Hisaar Foundation's plans for the next five years are:
Inputs to Pakistan Water Policy to include water for food and livelihood components (this will be done through preparing a concept paper and participating in the meetings for finalizing the policy)
Lobbying with relevant government departments (federal, provincial and local government levels) to include water conservation, IWRM, rational use of water in agriculture, appropriate food production, and livelihood security in their organizational objectives, policies and programmes
Promotion of and contribution to regulations and procedures to safeguard water and food resources
Water, food, nutrition, health and livelihood interventions
Development of multi-stakeholder platforms on particular problems and issues that are directly or indirectly related to the water and food sectors
Development of directories and database of relevant institutions and individuals
Interaction with media to promote rational practices and conservation approaches in the water and food sectors
Relief, mitigation and rehabilitation operations after emergencies and natural calamities
Contribution to
development of small-scale water-use and
conservation models that can show the way for
rational use of water
